Make plans to attend Hospitalero Training with American Pilgrims. Our next session of 2023 will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, to Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the Mt. Gilead Camp & Conference Center in Stroudsburg, PA. The venue is approximately one hour from both Allentown (ABE) and Wilkes-Barre Scranton (AVP) airports, 90 minutes west of Newark (EWR), and two hours from Philadelphia PHL). The training begins at 4:00 pm on Friday and ends at 4:00 pm on Sunday. You must attend the entire training to be certified.
Registration cost: $295.00. Includes two nights' lodging, six meals (Friday dinner through Sunday lunch) and all training materials. Linens are not provided; please bring a sleeping bag, pillow case, towel and toiletries.
Participation is limited to 20. A minimum of 15 participants is required to hold the training session. Don't delay, register today!
Do you want to learn what it takes to become an hospitalero supporting other pilgrims on the road to Santiago?
To attend you must:
- Have walked at least 100 km or biked at least 200 km of the Camino
- Have stayed in at least 2 non-private albergues
- Be a member of American Pilgrims on the Camino
- Be at least 21 years old by June 1, 2023
Note: Masks may be required during training. Please bring a surgical or KN95 mask with you (no Buffs or bandanas).

Fee Waiver Application: American Pilgrims strives to make participation in our Hospitalero Trainings financially accessible to all who wish to participate. As a way to keep fees as low as possible, American Pilgrims covers the costs of the training sessions beyond the amount of registration fees collected. One registration fee waiver per session is available to a member who might not otherwise afford the training. Preference for the fee waiver will be given to students and to those willing to serve in one of the Spanish Federation albergues. Transportation to the training location is the responsibility of the attendee.
